Volunteer Day with Brett Dennen

Eclipse day 2017: Team Rams Head spent the morning volunteering with Brett Dennen at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Oyster Restoration Center. There we learned about the life cycle of the critically endangered oyster and the efforts CBF is making to improve the population in the Chesapeake Bay. They grow the majority of new oyster spat in giant tanks but a significant number comes from small wire oyster huts. The wire huts we built will be distributed to private waterfront owners for them to grow their very own oysters, an effort that has gained momentum over the past few years.

Help Rams Head and Stella Artois Fight The Global Water Crisis

Rams Head is excited to announce its partnership with Stella Artois to combat the global water crisis. With the purchase of a limited edition Stella chalice and draft, one person will be supplied with water for 5 years. Each chalice features the work of an artist from one of three developing countries this year’s fundraising supports: Brazil, Cambodia, and Uganda.

Matt Damon and Gary White founded Water.org in 2009; but for 25 years, the organization has worked to bring water and sanitation to the world. So far, Stella’s partnership has helped over 800,000 people gain access to clean water by donating more than $3 million from chalice sales. There is more to be done and you can expect more innovative fundraising efforts in the future.

“1 in 10 people in the developing world lack access to safe water. This problem disproportionately affects women and children, who spend millions of hours a day collecting water instead of working, caring for family, or attending school.”

Rams Head and Annapolis Musicians Fund For Musicians celebrate another successful run of the annual tradition, “An Annapolis Christmas”!

On Monday and Tuesday, December 12th & 13th, Rams Head On Stage hosted the 18th Annual Annapolis Christmas Fundraising Concerts to benefit the local organization, Annapolis Musicians Fund For Musicians (AMFM). And what a great couple of nights for all involved!

AMFM is a non-profit organization that was created to provide temporary financial relief to professional Annapolis musicians who cannot work due to sickness, injury, or any other circumstance leaving them unable to perform. This fund acts as an emergency relief fund for lost income. Additionally, AMFM provides scholarships for young Annapolis musicians through the Tim King Scholarship Fund.

“Eighteen years ago, nobody involved with the first show imagined what the Christmas show would become: the financial cornerstone for the development of AMFM, a catalyst for building a wonderful community – for not only the local musicians, but for the audience as well – and a beautiful, Annapolis Holiday tradition. We are all very proud to be a part of it,” says Matt McConville, President of the organization.

As proud sponsor hosts of these wonderful shows, Rams Head is excited to announce that thanks to the hard work of the organizers, (Matt McConville, Sean O’Neill, PJ Thomas, to name a few), along with the generosity of close to 100 incredibly talented musicians donating their time and talent as part of 30 different acts spanning over two night, these shows raised nearly $20,000 for this worthy cause.

Matt McConville would also like to thank Garrett Park Guitars for their donation of two guitars: a Fender acoustic guitar and an electric guitar that were auctioned off for the cause.

Rams Head and AMFM would like to thank the following bands and artists that contributed:

Meg Murray and Bryan Ewald, Angie Miller, Sweet Leda, East is East, Dave Glazier, Naked Blue, The Geckos, Dean Rosenthal with Gary Wright & Leah Weiss and the Basement Band, Doug Segree, The Bay Jazz Project, The Sounds of Joshua Community Praise Choir, Dublin 5, The Naptown Brass Band, Swampcandy, Unified Jazz Ensemble, Dan Haas, The Hypnotic Panties, Higher Hands, The Tim Metz Band, The Annapolis Vocal Corp, Michael K, PJ Thomas, Dave Majerowics.

See you next year at “An Annapolis Christmas”!
